It has been a year since an Air India plane crashed

Today marks a year since an Air India aircraft crashed seconds after departing Ahmedabad, killing 241 people – including a Portsmouth nurse.

The catastrophic incident only had one survivor – British man, Vishwash Kumar Ramesh – who said he continues to live with “significant psychological scars” following the death of his brother in the crash.

The mother-of-two had been working in the UK for approximately a year but it is understood she had plans to return home once she completed her job contract.

Investigators have yet to publish their final findings into the cause of the crash.

A spokesperson for Air India said: “Air India remains committed to supporting every individual impacted by the AI171 tragedy with care and compassion.”
