Cathay Pacific will launch direct air service between Hong Kong and Almaty starting in 2027, Kazinform reports.
The announcement was made during a meeting between Kazakhstan’s Prime Minister Olzhas Bektenov and the Chief Executive of Hong Kong Special Administrative Region, John Lee.

Under the plans, flights are expected to operate from the first quarter of 2027, running three times per week on Airbus A330-300 wide-body aircraft. The new route will become the only direct air connection between Hong Kong and Kazakhstan.
The launch of the service is expected to strengthen trade, economic and investment ties between the two regions, while also supporting tourism development and expanding Kazakhstan’s international aviation network.
