UAE Basketball Coaches Conference | Ours Abroad News

The UAE Basketball Association held, on Saturday, in the hall of Khorfakkan Club, the technical conference for coaches of youth stages, under the chairmanship of Abdul Latif Nasser Al-Fardan, as part of the Seedlings Festival (4×4), with wide participation from the administrative and technical staff of the country’s clubs. The events witnessed extensive discussions on ways to develop the game’s base represented by the youth stages, along with reviewing mechanisms for polishing and raising the level of emerging talents by applying the latest approved methods and experiences in the field of sports training. The conference was attended by Rashid Abdullah Al-Naqbi, Director of National Teams; Dr. Muner bin Al-Habib, Technical Director of National Teams; Salem Atiq, Assistant Coach of the First Team and Coach of the Youth Team; Qasim Al-Hamwi, Technical Secretary of the Association; Adel Sakr, Supervisor of Youth Stages at Al-Nasr Club; and Emad Osman, Sports Expert in the Sharjah Sports Council. Abdul Latif Al-Fardan opened the conference with a speech in which he praised the existing cooperation between the Association and clubs in supporting the youth stages, stressing that they represent the main pillar of the national teams, and appreciating the role of clubs as a strategic partner in implementing programs and initiatives aimed at developing UAE basketball. He confirmed that organizing this conference comes within the Association’s keenness to develop the game’s system comprehensively, by discussing ideas and suggestions that contribute to elevating the level of all its elements. Al-Fardan emphasized that focusing on youth stages is the cornerstone for building strong national teams in the future, calling for concerted efforts between the Association and clubs to achieve strategic goals, and work to provide an ideal environment for developing players, in addition to supporting and qualifying coaches to enhance the efficiency of technical work and achieve excellence at local and international levels. Following the opening session, Muner bin Al-Habib held a ‘brainstorming’ session with coaches, during which a number of developmental ideas were presented and discussed in a fruitful interactive atmosphere. The conference witnessed a remarkable interaction from coaches of various stages, where a number of suggestions and recommendations were presented that would enhance the journey of developing UAE basketball, and work to unify technical visions in the service of the game’s interest.
