Sungrow, the globally PV inverter and energy storage system (ESS) provider, has signed an agreement with Masdar for the supply of PV inverter and energy storage solutions for the UAE’s RTC renewable energy project. Developed with Emirates Water and Electricity Company, the project combines 5.2 GW of solar PV capacity with a 19 GWh battery energy storage system. Sungrow will supply 2.6 GW of PV inverter solutions alongside 7.5 GWh of PowerTitan 3.0 ESS for the project. The RTC development is designed to provide round-the-clock renewable electricity for industries, businesses and residential communities. The project will deploy more than 30,000 solar PV systems integrated with inverter technologies to improve operational efficiency and grid stability. Sungrow’s inverter and storage technologies are designed to operate in temperatures up to 55°C without derating in the UAE climate. The RTC project is expected to begin operations in 2027.
