WANA (May 31) – The head of the Iranian Red Crescent Society (IRCS) announced that the Iranian Red Crescent Hospital in Dubai has been forcibly shut down, its director has been barred from leaving the country, and he is being taken daily for trial and interrogation.
Pir-Hossein Koulivand, the president of the Iranian Red Crescent Society, detailed the latest status of the IRCS hospital in Dubai, stating: “Unfortunately, this hospital was forcibly closed and, contrary to laws and regulations, patients were expelled from the facility.”
He specified: “Following the closure, they locked down the Iranian Red Crescent Hospital in Dubai, placed a travel ban on the hospital director, and are taking him daily for trial and interrogation.”
Asset Freeze on Hospital Funds
The IRCS chief further noted that court orders have led to the freezing of the hospital’s cash assets and outstanding claims.
“They have even evicted the staff of the Iranian Red Crescent Hospital in Dubai from their organizational housing units,” Koulivand emphasized.
He added that Iran is actively pursuing the matter on the global stage: “We are following up on all the aforementioned cases through international forums, have registered the relevant complaints, and will pursue them until a result is achieved.”
The president of the Iranian Red Crescent Society concluded by drawing a parallel to past diplomatic efforts, stating: “Just as we worked toward the release of the crew of the Tosca ship, we will put every effort into resolving the situation of the Red Crescent Hospital staff.”
