A fire that broke out at an under-construction building in Dubai’s JBR area earlier on Wednesday, May 6, was brought under control, the emirate’s civil defence authority has announced, adding that the incident did not resulted in any injuries.
In a statement, the authority confirmed that the Dubai Civil Defence Operations Room received a report at 07.06am this morning, indicating a fire incident in the JBR area. Al Marsa Fire Station was dispatched, reaching the scene in seven minutes.
“It was found that the incident occurred in an under-construction building and was of medium scale,” the statement clarified. At 08.51am, the field commander at the scene reported cooling operations are underway.

The site of the blaze will be handed over to the relevant authorities upon completion of the cooling operations.
Earlier, a spokeswoman for Al Habtoor Group confirmed to Khaleej Times that a fire has broken out at a construction site near Al Habtoor Grand in Dubai Marina, calling it a minor incident.
Two eyewitnesses reported hearing alot of sirens in the area and visuals from the site showed thick smoke billowing in the sky.
