British Airways extends Dubai suspension until October

British Airways has extended the suspension of flights between London Heathrow and Dubai International (DXB) until 25 October 2026 amid ongoing disruption linked to the Iran war. The route had been scheduled to resume on 1 July, while services to Bahrain, Amman and Tel Aviv will remain on hold through the same date.

Flights to Doha and Riyadh are scheduled to resume on 1 August and 8 August respectively, operating at a reduced frequency of one daily flight instead of the usual two.

Services to Abu Dhabi remain cancelled “until later this year”, with no restart date confirmed. The carrier’s Abu Dhabi route returned in 2024 after a four-year absence.

In a statement, British Airways said: “Due to the ongoing situation in the Middle East, we have made further changes to our flying schedule to provide greater clarity for our customers.”

The move comes as several international airlines continue to revise Middle East operations. Swiss International Air Lines has extended the suspension of flights to Dubai, while KLM Royal Dutch Airlines and Cathay Pacific also prolonged cancellations on selected Gulf routes.

British Airways recently introduced a new lounge concept at DXB Terminal 1, featuring redesigned hospitality and dining spaces tailored to regional travellers.
