Turkish airport hospitality brand Kepler — known for its technology-driven sleeping cabins — has now expanded its airport facility at Kuala Lumpur International Airport (KLIA) by more than doubling its capacity from 64 to 148 beds.
The bigger facility introduces Kepler’s DoubleKep cabins, which use a double-deck layout with a private entrance for each cabin. The company says the design is the first of its kind within an airport terminal.
The expansion officially opened on Aug 17 with a ceremony attended by Türkiye’s Ambassador to Malaysia, H.E. Nevzat Uyanık, Malaysia Airports Managing Director Dato’ Mohd Izani Ghani and Kepler Club Founder and CEO Ömer Alaettinoğlu.
The expanded facility provides passengers another option for short stays inside the airport, particularly those with long layovers or overnight flights.
Check-in and check-out are fully automated — though a 24-hour receptionist is available for guests who prefer human assistance. Inside each cabin, guests can stream Netflix or YouTube, use a personal tablet to extend their stay or even shop from Duty Free and enjoy thoughtful details such as sound masking systems, universal charging ports and Japanese-style smart toilets.
Guests can also customise their cabin through Kepler’s membership platform. Five settings are available: Rainforest, Desert, Ocean, Mountain and Fire. Each one changes the cabin’s lighting and soundscape, including the setting used to wake guests before checkout.
Inside, the cabins feature sound insulation and Bluetooth connectivity for the in-cabin sound system. Guests can also use the Kepler app to unlock their cabin, removing the need for a physical key or key card.
The expansion comes after strong ratings for Kepler’s existing KLIA locations. Its Airside property has a 9.2 out of 10 rating on Booking.com, while the Landside property has a 9.1 rating. The ratings are based on more than 2,100 combined reviews.
