(WO) — Indonesia Energy Corp. (IEC) is advancing drilling of its K-29 well at the Kruh Block on Sumatra, with the well reaching more than 2,500 ft as it approaches the targeted reservoir interval.
K-29 was spudded July 25 and remains on schedule, according to the company. The well has a planned total depth of approximately 3,400 ft, with IEC expecting to encounter the targeted reservoir zone at about 3,000 ft.
Upon reaching the reservoir, IEC plans to conduct coring operations to evaluate the formation’s characteristics and determine an optimal stimulation approach for maintaining and enhancing initial production.
Drilling will then continue to total depth, followed by wireline logging, casing and cementing, and perforation before the well is prepared for production. IEC expects these remaining operations to take several weeks.
“We are very pleased that drilling at K-29 remains on schedule as we approach the targeted reservoir zone,” said Frank Ingriselli, president of IEC. “We look forward to completing the well and then moving forward with drilling at WK-5 as we continue to execute our Kruh Block development program.”
Following completion of K-29, IEC plans to begin drilling the WK-5 well, where site preparations are underway.
Both K-29 and WK-5 are located within IEC’s approximately 63,000-acre Kruh Block on the island of Sumatra.
