Brocklebank Health Centre was officially opened by the Mayor of London this week, bringing together a range of health services in one modern building.

The new three-storey health centre has been developed as part of the wider Atheldene regeneration programme, with NHS South West London, NHS Property Services, Brocklebank Group Practice and Wandsworth Council working together to support the healthcare needs of existing and new communities in the area.

It brings together community dental services provided by King’s College Hospital, community health services provided by Central London Community Healthcare and podiatry services provided by Cora Health.

Brocklebank has made it easier for local people to access more joined-up care closer to home; reflecting the direction set out in the Government’s 10 Year Health Plan, to provide more care in local communities.

The Mayor of London, Sadiq Khan, visited the centre on 27 July to see the new facilities and meet staff working at the new health centre.

The Mayor of London, Sadiq Khan, who unveiled a plaque at the new Brocklebank Health Centre, said:“I’m delighted that the new Brocklebank Health Centre has opened to provide a range of healthcare services to the community in Wandsworth. By bringing together general practice and community health teams, this state-of-the-art centre is making it easier for local people to access the care they need when they need it. It is a great example of how integrated care can help to improve the lives of Londoners, as we build a healthier London for everyone.”

Sally Tombs, Managing Director, London, for NHS Property Services, said: “We are pleased to support the delivery of this new health centre, providing a modern, purpose-built space that brings services together under one roof. By working closely with our partners, we are helping to create a sustainable healthcare environment that supports integrated care and meets the needs of the local community for many years to come.”

Andrew Bland, Chief Executive of NHS South West London, said:“The opening of the new Brocklebank Health Centre is great news for patients and the local community. This modern, purpose-built building gives the practice, and wider health teams, the space and facilities they need to provide high-quality care now and in the years ahead.

“Brocklebank shows how the neighbourhood health model can work, with GP, community health, podiatry and specialist dental services brought together in one place. This supports the direction set out in the Government’s 10 Year Health Plan, to provide more joined-up care closer to where people live.

“I want to thank Wandsworth Council, NHS Property Services and all the local partners who have helped make this new centre possible.”
