The sale of Huang’s jacket at Sotheby’s auction
Jensen Huang has been appearing in public for nearly two decades wearing this very jacket, which has become an integral part of his signature look.
At product launches, corporate events, and industry exhibitions, he typically opts for a black leather jacket by designer Tom Ford.
On Friday, July 17, after 65 rounds of bidding, one of the jackets Huang wore and signed was sold for $960,000, well above the previous estimate for the lot.
It is noted that Huang wore this jacket during a Foxconn event in Taipei in 2023.
Sotheby’s said that 45 collectors participated in the bidding.
The proceeds from the sale are planned to go toward scholarships and grants.
Such a sale underscores the growing interest among collectors in items connected to the technology industry and its leaders.
