Evommune (NYSE: EVMN) is ending development of EVO756 in chronic spontaneous urticaria after the oral MRGPRX2 antagonist failed a mid-stage trial, dealing a sharp setback to one of the company’s lead inflammatory disease programs.
The randomized, double-blind, placebo-controlled Phase IIb study enrolled 160 adults with moderate-to-severe antihistamine-refractory chronic spontaneous urticaria in the USA, Europe, Canada and Japan. Patients received one of three EVO756 dose regimens or placebo.
