Iran says US aviation activity could ruin existing agreements

The Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) accused the US of violating the framework agreement due to strikes carried out by Washington. Tehran is preparing a military response, and any vessel that violates will come under fire.

“From now on, violating vessels will be dealt with more strongly than in the past and will face a crushing response,” the IRGC stated.

The conflict erupted over the Islamabad Memorandum of Understanding. Tehran considers paragraph 1 of this document to have been violated.

In addition, Tehran is dissatisfied with US aviation activity in the skies. They spotted a Boeing KC-135R Stratotanker refuelling aircraft that took off from Qatar. Its flight pattern is identical to that used during Washington”s strikes.

US Reaction

UN Ambassador Mike Waltz warned the Iranian regime of further attacks. Washington will continue to destroy Iran’s military infrastructure to free up the waterways.

“If the Iranian regime thinks for a second that President Trump is going to sit by, stand by, while Iran continues to attack international shipping without a response, or our bases without a response, they’re sadly mistaken,” Waltz stated.

Who controls the Strait of Hormuz now

IRGC spokesman Hossein Mohebi calls the US a deceitful partner. Iran promises even harsher responses.

Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi spoke in Baghdad and declared full surveillance over Hormuz. For 30 days, Tehran will manage the waterway unilaterally.

Context

Last night, the IRGC announced another attack on US bases in the region. Ballistic missiles and drones were launched toward Kuwait and Bahrain.

The US and Iran have exchanged strikes over the past several days. It all started with Tehran’s attack on a civilian vessel in the Strait of Hormuz.

Washington was quick to respond, striking military targets in the Strait of Hormuz. According to American officials, this is an act of retaliation for the Iranian attack on the civilian ship.
