Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim receives a farewell visit from Gambian scholar Sheikh Muhammad Haydara Al-Jilani, seeking prayers for Malaysia’s prosperity.

KUALA LUMPUR: Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim today received a farewell visit from Gambian scholar Sheikh Muhammad Haydara Al-Jilani, who has spent the past month in Malaysia leading a series of knowledge-sharing and dhikr programmes across the country.

In a post on his official Facebook page, Anwar said the meeting, held in conjunction with the Day of Ashura, was also an opportunity to seek special prayers for the prosperity, peace and well-being of all Malaysians.

“Alhamdulillah, I had the opportunity to receive a farewell visit from Gambian scholar Sheikh Muhammad Haydara Al-Jilani, who has been in Malaysia over the past month leading a series of knowledge and dhikr gatherings at several locations.

“In conjunction with the Day of Ashura, which also falls on this blessed Friday, I requested that the Sheikh offer prayers for the well-being of the people, peace for the country, and that Malaysia continues to be blessed with Allah SWT’s mercy, blessings and protection,” he said.

Sheikh Muhammad Haydara’s visit to Malaysia formed part of a dakwah programme involving a series of religious gatherings and knowledge sessions held at selected locations nationwide.
