True IDC, Thailand’s largest data center and cloud service provider, has broken ground on its seventh data center in Northern Bangkok as part of a broader investment of more than THB 6 billion (USD 182.1 million) to expand digital infrastructure capacity in the country.

The new facility is designed to support hyperscale computing and will connect to what the company describes as Thailand’s largest core network hub. The data center is expected to facilitate large-scale domestic and international data exchange while supporting cloud, AI, and digital platform deployments that require real-time processing.

The development comes as demand for data center capacity continues to rise across Southeast Asia, driven by growing cloud adoption, AI workloads, and enterprise digital transformation initiatives.

Located in Northern Bangkok, the facility adds to True IDC’s existing footprint while supporting the company’s strategy to diversify data center locations. The company said the location was selected for its connectivity, accessibility, and proximity to expanding commercial areas.

The project will use modular construction techniques to improve deployment speed and operational efficiency. The facility is being built to accommodate high-density CPU and GPU workloads, supported by layered primary and backup power systems.

True IDC said the data center will support both air cooling and liquid cooling technologies, enabling configurations based on customer requirements. The facility will also include network and security systems designed to support operational reliability.

According to the company, the site was selected for its low exposure to natural disaster risks to help ensure business continuity.

The facility is expected to operate in accordance with Uptime Institute standards and will follow data governance requirements aligned with industry regulations.

True IDC said sustainability considerations are also integrated into the project, with operations aligned to ISO 14001 and ISO 50001 standards for environmental and energy management. The company added that it aims to maintain optimal power usage effectiveness (PUE) as energy efficiency becomes an increasingly important focus in data center operations.
