With the 29th anniversary of Hong Kong’s return to the motherland just around the corner, the city’s iconic trams have been adorned with celebratory decorations, bringing a festive vibe to the bustling streets.

The celebrations won’t stop at the tram exteriors. From July 1 to 3, members of the public will be able to enjoy free tram rides, a gesture that adds to the city-wide festive spirit and invites everyone to join in the commemorative atmosphere.

China Daily‘s Andy Chong took the photos on Tuesday.
