Lee Andrews has posted on social media for the first time since he was released from prison in Dubai.

The Dubai-based businessman was detained by authorities last month, after Price revealed to the public that he had disappeared after failing to catch his flight to the UK.

At the end of May, Price finally tracked him down, claiming that he had been placed in Al Awir prison on suspicion of being a spy. Reports later emerged that he is being held there on claims relating to a private civil matter.

Following news of his release – which was announced by his wife Katie Price on Friday – the Dubai-based businessman posted to Instagram on Tuesday (16 June).

“Hi everyone this is Lee I’ve been missing now for several weeks and I can tell you I am now safe and healthy and with my wife,” he said in a video.

Andrews went on to describe his alleged treatment in Dubai, stating: “I was taken by the Qatar border by the men, at gunpoint, and was captured by men with assault rifles. They did slap me round a little bit. Little s***s.

“From there I was taken to a black site where I had no use of my phone and from what I know, it was an extended arm of the National Guard.”

The 43-year-old said that he could not reveal any more at the moment because he has signed “disclaimers with state security and from there I was put into the system”.

The Independent has contacted the Dubai authorities for comment.

He added: “At no point have I faced anything to do with fraud allegations or criminal activities.”

Andrews thanked his “beautiful wife, who without her help involving all the UK authorities, I don’t think I would have got[ten] out of that situation”.

He maintained the previous reason he gave for his detainment, stating that he was “suspected of espionage and held in a state security building without the use of a telephone or any rights to a shower, contact or to speak to any of my family including the embassy or my wife”.

“From there, I did have a civil case in Dubai which led to me going into the mainstream prison during the Arabic holidays, Eid.

“I was able to secure my release and I am here now, so thank you everyone for listening and love and blessing to everyone,” he concluded.

He shared a photograph of himself and Price reuniting, while the ex-glamour model also shared Andrews’s videos to her own account alongside the words: “My husband back” and “I love you”.

Andrews’s Instagram post comes one week after Price made it clear that she would not be paying the £140,000 sum that she claimed the authorities asked of her to bail Andrews out of prison.

In the same interview, Price threatened Andrews with divorce if he was not able to answer her many questions about his disappearance.

From the looks of their latest social media posts, however, the couple appear to be on good terms after being reunited this week.

Price and Andrews wed in January this year, just days after meeting for the first time. Since then, a number of claims about the businessman have made headlines – from him falsely claiming to have a PhD from Cambridge to AI-generated images of him with Kim Kardashian on his Instagram page.
