In the lead-up to Eid Al Adha and in line with the objectives of the “Year of Family”, the Community Development Authority (CDA) in Dubai continued its efforts to launch integrated humanitarian and community initiatives aimed at spreading joy among all community members and enhancing family and social stability, in collaboration with a number of government, private, and charitable entities. These efforts reflect Dubai’s humanitarian approach rooted in solidarity, generosity, and the promotion of quality of life.

The CDA implemented the “Eidiya” initiative on the occasion of Eid Al Adha, benefiting more than 11,700 registered beneficiaries, in a step that reflects the authentic Emirati values associated with the occasion and strengthens the social support system directed towards families and vulnerable groups. The initiative was implemented in cooperation with several strategic partners from the government, private, and charitable sectors, including the Awqaf and Minors Affairs Foundation, Union Coop, Dubai Land Department, Khalifa Juma Al Nabooda Group, Beit Al Khair Society, Dar Al Ber Society, and Tarahum Charity Foundation, reflecting integrated community efforts and reinforcing the culture of giving and social solidarity in Dubai.

Her Excellency Hessa bint Essa Buhumaid, Director General of the Community Development Authority in Dubai, affirmed that these initiatives embody the values of compassion and solidarity that distinguish UAE society and reflect the CDA’s commitment to strengthening meaningful community partnerships aimed at supporting families and vulnerable groups and bringing joy to them during blessed occasions. She noted that sustainable community work is built on the integration of roles among various entities, contributing to enhanced quality of life and strengthened social cohesion.

Her Excellency said: “Dubai continues to reinforce its position as a global model in humanitarian and social work through impactful initiatives that place people and families at the heart of its development priorities, in line with the objectives of the Dubai Social Agenda 33, which aims to build a more connected and cohesive society and strengthen a sustainable system of social protection and empowerment for all community members.”

The initiative targeted families and individuals receiving financial assistance registered with the Community Development Authority, in addition to other priority groups, including minors and fishermen, within an integrated community framework aimed at strengthening family stability and social cohesion. The total number of beneficiaries of the “Eidiya” initiative exceeded 11,700 beneficiaries.

The total value of the initiative reached AED 27.7 million, covering support allocations provided to beneficiaries of social financial assistance and minors, within the framework of community partnerships that reflect cooperation among entities concerned with social work and contribute to maximizing the social impact of initiatives aimed at supporting families and vulnerable groups.

The initiative also included support for fishermen through prepaid cards provided by Union Coop, in addition to a co-design session organised by the CDA to check on their wellbeing and identify their needs, enhancing the sustainability of support provided to this group while taking into account their social and living requirements.

The initiatives also included a contribution of AED 5 million provided by Beit Al Khair Society in collaboration with the “Jood” platform in support of the Community Development Fund, contributing to reinforcing the values of solidarity and giving and enhancing the impact of sustainable community partnerships in supporting families and vulnerable groups.

the CDA implemented a humanitarian initiative to distribute 250 fruit baskets on the occasion of Eid Al Adha, in collaboration with the UAE Food Bank, an initiative under Dubai Municipality, as part of efforts aimed at promoting a culture of giving and sustainable humanitarian work. The initiative benefited 65 participants from the “Waleef” initiative, in addition to 185 beneficiaries from senior citizens in Al Barsha majlis. The baskets were delivered directly to beneficiaries’ homes, enhancing accessibility and service quality while reflecting the values of integrated care and social solidarity.

These initiatives reaffirm the CDA’s commitment to continuously advancing community work and strengthening the impact of sustainable humanitarian partnerships, contributing to supporting families and vulnerable groups, reinforcing the values of giving and solidarity, and further enhancing Dubai’s position as a leading global model in social development and community wellbeing.
