India eyes diversified touring circuit with Guwahati Guns N’ Roses show

India’s touring market is set to continue its expansion beyond its established major city concert markets when it welcomes Guns N’ Roses to Guwahati in November, as part of a two-night tour of the country.

The veteran rock band will also play in Bengaluru (also known as Bangalore) on 14 November, followed by the show in Guwahati on 17 November, with both appearances promoted by BookMyShow.

While Bengaluru will build on its growing reputation for major international acts, Guwahati in Assam in the country’s north east is a less established market in India’s live sector. In December 2025, it marked a significant milestone when Post Malone played in the city.

The Bengaluru show is set for the open-air NICE Grounds, which has previously hosted international concerts including Calvin Harris and Ed Sheeran, and which is also set to host the highly-anticipated Rock on Harris concert tour by Tamil star Harris Jayaraj.

BookMyShow chief business officer said that while Bengaluru has established itself a “rock capital” for the Indian live industry, Guwahati “reflects the tremendous potential of emerging markets and the growing appetite for large-scale live entertainment across the region”. He continued: “We are excited to bring this iconic experience to fans in both cities and can’t wait for audiences to witness Guns N’ Roses’ electrifying performance once again.”

“We are thrilled to welcome them back for another unforgettable chapter in their journey with Indian audiences. Their return is a testament to the continued growth of India’s live entertainment ecosystem and the country’s emergence as a vibrant cultural destination for world-class experiences,” he added.

This comes after BookMyShow hailed growth seen across the Indian market, following record crowds at festivals including Sunburn and Lollapalooza India and a series of mega-concerts from the likes of Coldplay, Ed Sheeran, and Travis Scott in the country.

The government’s Information and Broadcasting Ministry also launched a Live Events Development Cell (LEDC) earlier this year. At its latest meeting, the LEDC announced plans to allow live events planners to use a single-window clearance system for licensing, a platform previously used only by the television and film sectors.

For Guns N’ Roses, the two-night tour will mark a return to India after playing the country in 2025, which Pugalia said had received a “phenomenal response”.
