Singaporean data center operator ST Telemedia Global Data Centres (STT GDC) has acquired a 3.5-acre land parcel in Navi Mumbai, India, for a potential data center.

STT GDC paid Rs 2.8 billion ($30m) for the land parcel, which is located in the TTC Industrial Area of Navi Mumbai, according to documents seen by real estate intelligence firm CRE Matrix.

The parcel formerly belonged to Repro India Limited, a bookprinting business.

Details about STT GDC’s plans for the parcel were not shared.

Navi Mumbai is located east of Mumbai. Both are located in the state of Maharashtra.

STT GDC has an existing presence in the Mumbai area, and it broke ground on its third campus in the city of Palava in March.

One of its other data center campuses is located in Mumbai proper, whilst the other is located in Navi Mumbai.

STT GDC’s India division has more than 400MW of critical IT load in operation and development across 30 facilities in 10 cities across the country.

Investment firm KKR and Singaporean telecoms firm Singtel fully acquired STT GDC in February.
