Katie Price’s husband Lee Andrews ‘won’t be released from Dubai prison soon’

Katie Price’s embattled husband Lee Andrews reportedly will not be released from a Dubai prison anytime soon.

The former glamour model, 48, was seen at Gatwick Airport earlier this week as she flew out to Dubai to be reunited with her entrepreneur husband, who went incognito from their marriage last month.

The 43-year-old claimed he had been arrested near a black site, according to text messages he sent Price shortly before going radio silent for days on end.

It’s since been confirmed that Andrews is banged up in Dubai’s Al Awir jail, where he reportedly spent three months last year for suspected fraud, having forged an ex-girlfriend’s signature to take out a £200,000 mortgage in her name.

Andrews has spent the past few weeks detained over a ‘private civil matter’, rather than the espionage charge he had claimed in a phone call to Price from prison.

It had been reported that Andrews would be released on Monday, but an insider has now thrown cold water on that timeline.

They told the Daily Mail: ‘Katie is going to the [Al Awir] prison on Wednesday to try to speak to Lee. He is still locked up there and it does not look like he is getting out any time soon.’

Metro contacted Katie Price’s representative, who had no comment on this story.

Price has touched down in Dubai and been pictured sunbathing in the influencer hotspot, having shared an update to her Instagram Story over the ongoing situation.

The post read: ‘Behind every strong woman is a story that changed her. A heartbreak she didn’t see coming. A loss she never wanted. A battle she never asked to fight.

‘She didn’t become strong because it was easy, she became strong because she had no other choice.

‘And now? That strength is her power. Her resilience is her weapon. Her faith is her anchor. She may carry scars, but those scars shine as proof that she made it through.’

She continued: ‘Strong women aren’t born, they’re built in the fire. And if you see one standing tall, know this: she carries a story of survival that turned into strength.’

On Tuesday, Andrews mysteriously re-followed Price on Instagram, having unfollowed her in the days prior, seemingly from prison.

There has been intense speculation around Andrews ever since Price went public with their quick-turnaround romance in January, which saw them tie the knot shortly after meeting.
