BEIJING – China beat Japan 3-2 to win a seventh consecutive women’s team title at the 2026 ITTF World Team Table Tennis Championships Finals in London on Sunday.
It marked a record-extending 24th time that China has lifted the Corbillon Cup, with its latest title run beginning from the 2012 edition in Dortmund.
“One hundred years since London hosted the first World Championships, China have written another page into the history books,” wrote the International Table Tennis Federation on its website.
“The Corbillon Cup stays in Chinese hands, claimed on the centenary stage in the city where it all began.”
The International Table Tennis Federation is celebrating its centenary in 2026, marking 100 years since its founding and the first World Championships in London in 1926.
