  • Full Gulf solidarity
  • A call to strengthen regional security

Riyadh, Saudi Arabia – The Secretary-General of the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) strongly condemned the Iranian attacks targeting the United Arab Emirates and Kuwait. He affirmed that these attacks constitute a dangerous escalation and a clear violation of international law and the UN Charter.

The Secretary-General stated that the Iranian attacks reflect a treacherous approach aimed at destabilizing the region. They also undermine regional and international efforts to enhance security and contain escalating tensions in the Middle East.

Full Gulf solidarity

The Secretary-General affirmed the Gulf Cooperation Council’s full solidarity with the United Arab Emirates and the State of Kuwait. He also announced the Council’s support for all measures taken by the two countries to protect their security and sovereignty and to preserve their territorial integrity and resources.

He emphasized that the security of the Gulf Cooperation Council states is indivisible and that any attack on a member state constitutes a direct threat to the security and stability of all member states.

He noted that the continued Iranian aggression threatens maritime security and the stability of global energy markets. It also has serious repercussions for regional and international security.

A call to strengthen regional security

He also called on the international community to take a firm stance against these practices. He demanded action to halt any activities that could fuel conflicts or threaten the region’s security.

The Secretary-General emphasized the importance of strengthening joint Gulf coordination and cooperation to address current security challenges. This would ensure the protection of the security of the GCC states and the stability of their people.

He also reiterated the necessity of adhering to the principles of good neighborliness, respecting the sovereignty of states, and non-interference in their internal affairs. This contributes to consolidating regional security and stability.
