YANGON – Two Myanmar women and a man have been arrested in Bangkok, Thailand, for exploiting children by forcing them to work, the Bangkok Post reported.

A six-year-old boy has been arrested after being watched by Thai police selling goods around Bangkok.

Police from Thailand’s Child and Women’s Protection Division arrested two women and a man at a house in Suan Luang district and rescued a child with a broken arm, and five other children were also rescued from the house, said Bangkok police chief Sayam Boonsam.

According to police, the three arrested individuals exploited minors by forcing them to sell flowers and candy at restaurants and service areas across the city from 3 p.m. to 3 a.m. daily, the report said.

The news reports that the two perpetrators, a man and a woman, beat the children and starved them if they did not meet the set standards for sale. The children are from the Burmese ethnic group.
