Virgin Atlantic cancels London-Dubai route

Virgin Atlantic has announced the suspension of its winter route from London to Dubai for the 2026-2027 season due to “evolving customer demand”.

The UK-based airline had been due to operate the Heathrow-Dubai route from 26 October 2026 to 27 March 2027. But in a statement on its trade portal, Virgin Atlantic said it had “taken the difficult decision to temporarily suspend” the service.

Virgin Atlantic is also suspending services from Heathrow to Seattle for next winter, with the route set to resume in March 2027.

The airline said it is planning a “significant increase” in capacity on routes from London to South Africa for winter 2026-27 as it looks to meet “growing demand for both leisure and business travel”. Virgin flies to both Johannesburg and Cape Town in South Africa.

Last month, Virgin Atlantic confirmed that it has terminated its route from Heathrow to Riyadh in Saudi Arabia, which was only launched in April 2025.
