Russia’s Federal Air Transport Agency (Rosaviatsiya) has announced the cancellation of earlier recommendations to suspend ticket sales for flights to the United Arab Emirates and has lifted restrictions on the use of Iranian airspace, TASS reports.
“Taking into account the position of the Ministry of Transport and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Russia, we have cancelled the recommendations for Russian airlines to suspend ticket sales on flights to/from the UAE. We have also lifted restrictions on flights of Russian airlines through Iranian airspace. Transit flights and flights to airports in this country may be operated with strict consideration of all recommendations of Iranian aviation authorities,” the agency said.
Authorities added that specialists continue to analyse the situation in civil aviation across the Middle East and may adjust Russian carriers’ routes if necessary.
Earlier, airspace in several regional countries had been closed since late February amid escalating tensions in the Middle East. From April 16 to May 15, Rosaviatsiya also allowed flights to Israel between 07:00 and 01:00 Moscow time.
