KUALA LUMPUR: An accident along the Kuala Lumpur-Karak Expressway claimed the lives of three men in their 20s, while a woman was seriously injured.

Selangor Fire and Rescue Department operations assistant director Ahmad Mukhlis Mukhtar said the accident occurred when the car the victims were travelling in crashed into the rear of a cement lorry near Kampung Sungai Chinchin yesterday.

He said the department received an emergency call at 2.07am, with a team from the Selayang fire station dispatched to the scene.

“A 27-year-old woman suffered severe head injuries and a fractured left leg, while three men in their 20s were pronounced dead at the scene by medical personnel,” he said in a statement yesterday.

Ahmad Mukhlis added that the victims were extricated from the vehicle, with operations concluding at about 3.15am.
