From 28 to 31 March 2026, CIFM / interzum guangzhou concluded successfully at the Canton Fair Complex in Guangzhou, China. Spanning over 170,000 sqm, the exhibition gathered 1,750 renowned exhibitors from 29 countries and regions. Staged concurrently with China International Furniture Fair (Guangzhou) Phase II (Office and Commercial Space), the event attracted around 220,000 professional visitors. Overall, the fair earned wide recognition and high satisfaction among participants, and over 80% of 2026 exhibitors are keen to return for the 2027 edition.

Global Resources Cluster

As a flagship annual trade event for the furniture production sector in Asia, the fair has further elevated its professionalism and global influence. The 2026 edition achieved a record-high number of exhibitors, with prominent participation of international pavilions and industry associations, including a privately organised German Pavilion, Turkish Pavilion, American Hardwood Export Council (AHEC), American Softwoods, Virginia Department of Agriculture and Consumer Services (VDACS), Quebec Wood Export Bureau, Malaysian Timber Council and Taiwan Woodworking Machinery Association (TWMA).

Featuring world-class technologies and innovative solutions, CIFM / interzum guangzhou welcomed professional buyers from 185 countries and regions. Participants covered furniture manufacturing, custom home furnishings, interior design, building materials, decoration and cross-border trade, effectively expanding industrial boundaries and market reach.

Industry Leaders Gather

Established brands and emerging enterprises gathered onsite to present innovative products and solutions, seize market opportunities and explore the industry’s future development.

IMA Schelling Group, a European pioneer in high-end woodworking automation, made a remarkable return in 2026 and attracted wide attention from global professional buyers. Catherine Wu, General Manager of IMA Schelling China, commented: “We have been participating in interzum guangzhou since 2005, with a history of 21 years. This year, we connected with domestic and international clients across Southeast Asia, Central Asia, India and beyond.” The group maintains strong confidence in the growth of China and Asia. Christoph Geiger, Managing Director of IMA Schelling Group, stated: “China, and especially Asia, will be a core market for the IMA Schelling Group.”

UNILIN, a renowned global panel manufacturer, made its debut at the fair and fully recognised its industrial value. Yiran Zhao, Head of UNILIN China, noted: “UNILIN has been an exhibitor at interzum in Cologne for many years. When we decided to develop the market in China, interzum guangzhou is absolutely our first choice.” During the exhibition, Wim Peeters, Consul General of Belgium in Guangzhou, visited the venue and held in-depth exchanges with Belgian exhibitors including UNILIN. He mentioned: “There are a lot of Belgian furniture companies already operating in China. Belgium and China have a very intensive relationship. interzum guangzhou is a very important fair for Belgian companies to enter the Chinese market.”

Muhammed Salih Demirtas, representative of the Istanbul Ferrous and Non-Ferrous Metals Exporters’ Association (IDDMIB), attended the fair for the first time. “The Chinese furniture sector is very large and growing fast. As a Turkish company, we want to follow this development of the furniture sector in China,” he said.

The event won high praise from both new participants and long-term exhibitors. More than 80% of them have voiced full confidence in the Chinese and Asian markets and shown strong enthusiasm to join the 2027 edition.

In-depth Industry Exchanges

A lineup of high-end concurrent forums, including the VSIL Forum and Boundless Innovation Forum, were staged alongside the exhibition. Focusing on smart manufacturing, green sustainability, material innovation and global layout, these sessions gathered design experts, scholars, business leaders and technical professionals to share in-depth insights and practical solutions for industrial transformation and upgrading.

The fair also strengthened ties with international associations, securing support from the European Federation of Woodworking Machinery Manufacturers (EUMABOIS), the Malaysian Furniture Council (MFC), the Association of Furniture Manufacturers & Traders of India (AFMT), and the Indonesian Furniture Industry and Handicraft Association (ASMINDO). To meet global sourcing demands, it optimised one-on-one business matching services, delivering 226 exclusive onsite meetings, streamlining supplier-buyer communication and boosting trade efficiency.

Industry visitors offered high praise for the event. Behar Sinamati, CEO of Sinamati Group, remarked: “The level of interzum guangzhou organisation was exceptional, and the exhibition offered a clear view of where the industry is heading. We connected with leading suppliers, discovered advanced materials and solutions, and engaged in discussions that will directly shape our future projects. It was not just a visit, but a strategic investment with real, long-term potential.”

Dhanesh Bhatia, Honorary Treasurer of AFMT and CEO of Group Aryamman, added: “interzum guangzhou is a great platform because in one exhibition you see the whole industry. So, it’s one collaborative ecosystem in one place for everybody to see, meet, understand and connect.”

Edwin Moo, Chief Secretary of NS Furniture Association, Malaysia and Managing Director of Sinaran Office Supply, said: “interzum guangzhou is a great platform for international buyers to gather the latest and most innovative technology in the furniture production industry. With the world‘s leading supply chain in manufacturing and materials, we can easily gain knowledge and business networks within a short time.”

Forging Ahead in 2027

CIFM / interzum guangzhou 2026 has successfully concluded, as the industry forges ahead on its path of innovation and smart advancement. Scheduled to take place again at the Canton Fair Complex from 28 to 31 March 2027, the upcoming edition will further expand high-quality international exhibitor resources and enhance targeted business matching services.

Boasting a global vision, the fair will keep focusing on cutting-edge manufacturing technologies, intelligent production solutions and green eco-friendly materials, continuing to serve as a core platform for resource integration, technical exchange and business cooperation across the Asia-Pacific furniture manufacturing industry.
