CHONGQING, July 30 (Xinhua) — Since the operation of the ±800 kV ultra-high voltage direct current (UHV DC) power transmission project linking Hami of northwest China’s Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region with southwest China’s Chongqing Municipality, the Chongqing end has received a cumulative total of over 30 billion kWh of electricity, with a recorded single-day peak power delivery of 145 million kWh.

Stretching from northwest to southwest China, this major energy artery has maintained stable operation during this summer’s peak period, providing strong momentum for reliable residential power supply and high-quality industrial development.
