Ramadan Ondash has rejected an immediate rematch with Johan Ghazali and told former conqueror Aliff Sor Dechapan to follow him to flyweight as he targets ONE Championship gold – preferably in Qatar.

The Lebanese teenager edged Ghazali by split decision in Friday’s flyweight Muay Thai co-main event at The Inner Circle 24 in Bangkok, securing the biggest victory of his career.

Asked backstage by Thai media whether he would give the Malaysian-American an immediate opportunity to settle the score, Ondash offered a firm response.

“No,” the 19-year-old said, before joking: “If he pays like US$100,000, rematch – that’s it.”

The demand prompted laughter from reporters and appeared tongue-in-cheek, but Ondash made it clear he was ready to move forward rather than face Ghazali again straight away.

He had struck a more conciliatory tone moments earlier in his in-ring interview, referring to his former friend from the amateur circuit as a brother.

“Now we go eat together,” Ondash said. “No problem.”

Their contest was nevertheless decided by fine margins. Two judges awarded all three rounds to Ondash, while the other scored the second and third for Ghazali.

Ondash’s mouthguard also repeatedly fell out, forcing referee Ricky Sewell to pause the action several times before showing him a yellow card.

The Lebanese fighter acknowledged backstage that the mouthguard was old and said he would replace it before his next appearance.

A second fight with Aliff also appears unlikely unless the Malaysian agrees to move up in weight.

Aliff handed Ondash his only ONE defeat at strawweight last December and has since become interim champion, putting himself on course for a unification bout with Prajanchai PK Saenchai.

Asked whether he wanted another opportunity to face Aliff should the 21-year-old defeat Thailand’s Prajanchai, Ondash said he could no longer make the strawweight limit.

“If he can come to flyweight, welcome,” he added.

Ondash moved up a division after the Aliff loss and returned to winning ways against Suriyanlek Por Yenying in May before calling out Ghazali.

Friday’s victory improved his professional record to 14-4 and left him 2-0 at flyweight, with six wins from seven appearances in ONE.

Ondash said strawweight was now the domain of his elder brother Abdallah, while he intended to pursue his own title opportunity at 135lbs.

He did not specifically call out flyweight Muay Thai champion Asadula Imangazaliev, instead offering to face anybody if ONE books him for its return to Qatar.

“Next? I want to fight in Qatar,” Ondash said in a post-fight video published by ONE.

“That’s it. Anybody. I don’t care. Inshallah, next year. I hope so. Allah, give me the belt.”

ONE’s first event under its renewed three-year partnership with Visit Qatar will take place at Doha’s Aspire Dome on March 26, 2027.

The promotion has promised several flagship events in the country over the next three years, featuring world title bouts and leading Middle Eastern fighters alongside its international stars.

ONE previously staged numbered events in Doha in March 2024 and February 2025. Its planned return in April this year fell through amid heightened conflict in the Middle East.

Ondash believes he would be a natural fit for the new card because of Qatar’s proximity to Lebanon and also asked for Abdallah to be booked alongside him.

His elder brother had already made Friday a memorable night for the family, knocking out Chokpreecha PK TomTKalaiyont with a liver kick after just 19 seconds.

It was Abdallah’s fifth consecutive stoppage in ONE and further strengthened his claim for a strawweight title opportunity.

Ramadan now wants to take the brothers’ momentum to the Middle East while continuing his own pursuit of flyweight gold.

“Please, Mr Chatri, give me this chance,” he said. “I fight in Qatar, close to my country. Please.”
