Horse No 1 SPICE BAG (L244) J Orman Jumped awkwardly.
Horse No 2 ALMIGHTY WARRIOR (L245) E Brown Between the 450 Metres and the 300 Metres was held up for clear running behind TALENTS CHAMPION.
Sent for sampling post-race Horse No 3 CHANCHENG SPARKLE (L051) C L Chau Jumped only fairly.
Held up for clear running on the Home Turn.
Between the 450 Metres and the 200 Metres had difficulty in obtaining clear running.
Horse No 4 COOGEE BAY (L307) M F Poon Approaching the 200 Metres was momentarily crowded between SILVERY KNIGHT and CHANCHENG SPARKLE which shifted out when obtaining clear running.
Horse No 5 GOLDEN GUNNERS (L306) E C W Wong Jumped only fairly.
Horse No 6 SHARP PLANET (L308) J Moreira J Moreira reported that his mount hung out throughout the event and proved difficult to ride.
He said as a consequence his mount was obliged to race very wide and without cover for the majority of the event before giving ground in the Home Straight.
A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.
Horse No 7 SHOW ME YOUR LOVE (L355) H Bowman In the early part of the Home Straight raced greenly.
For some distance approaching the 300 Metres had difficulty obtaining clear running between SHARP PLANET and SILVERY KNIGHT.
Horse No 8 SILVERY KNIGHT (L236) L Hewitson Shifted out at the start and was bumped.
Horse No 9 EVER WEALTH (L317) H Y Yuen Near the 400 Metres lay in and made slight contact with the running rail.
Apprentice H Y Yuen reported that her mount raced greenly in the Home Straight.
Sent for sampling post-race Horse No 10 GAUDIUM MAGNUM (L345) A Atzeni A Atzeni reported that, in his opinion, the horse finished the race off in a satisfactory manner.
A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.
Horse No 11 QUANTUM WUKONG (L393) Y L Chung From the outside barrier was shifted across behind runners in the early stages.
Approaching the 400 Metres was hampered when taken wider by SPICE BAG which shifted out to improve.
Horse No 12 RISING WORLD (L276) Z Purton When questioned regarding his riding out over the concluding stages Z Purton stated that when he felt the horse had a comfortable margin over the second placegetter ALMIGHTY WARRIOR, he stopped riding the horse out for a short distance leaving the 50 Metres.
He added that when RISING WORLD came back underneath him quicker than he had anticipated he was then obliged to resume riding the horse with full vigour to the end of the race.
Jockey Purton agreed with the Stewards that in the circumstances he should have continued to encourage his mount to the finish to ensure the horse’s placing was not compromised.
Noted to have lost its right hind plate after the race.
Sent for sampling post-race Horse No 13 SECRET INGREDIENT (L290) H Bentley Shortly after the start was bumped by SILVERY KNIGHT which shifted out.
Raced wide and without cover for the majority of the event.
