Indian women won four gold medals at the Asian Boxing Championships 2026 in Ulaanbaatar, Mongolia, on Thursday, with Minakshi Hooda (48kg), Preeti Pawar (54kg), Priya (60kg) and Arundhati Choudhary (70kg) crowned new continental champions.

Overall, India also emerged as the most successful nation in the women’s division at the ongoing Asian Championships with 10 medals – four golds, two silvers and four bronze medals.

On Thursday, Indian boxers were involved in six finals.

Minakshi Hooda, the reigning world champion in the 48kg, also added the continental crown to her name by defeating local favourite Nomundari Enkh-Amgalan by a 5-0 unanimous decision.

Preeti Pawar continued her sensational run in the 54kg division, defeating Chinese Taipei’s Huang Hsiao-wen – a three-time world champion and an Olympic bronze medallist – 5-0 to secure the top podium finish.

Priya was at her clinical best as she beat the Democratic People’s Republic of Korea’s Won Un-gyong 3-0 in the 60kg final. Arundhari Choudhary accounted for the final gold in the 70kg division by defeating Kazakhstan’s Bakyt Seidish 4-1.

World champion Jaismine Lamboria (57kg) and Alfiya Pathan (80+kg) had to settle for silver medals in their respective divisions after losses to Thailand’s Punrawee Ruenros and Dina Islambekova of Kazakhstan, respectively, by similar 5-0 margins.

Earlier, Nikhat Zareen (51kg), Olympic medallist Lovlina Borgohain (75kg), Olympian Pooja Rani (80kg) and Ankushita Boro (65kg) secured bronze medals after losing their respective semi-finals.

The haul means all 10 Indian women boxers in action at Ulaanbatar will return home with a medal.

On Friday’s men’s finals, India will have Vishvanath Suresh (50kg) and Sachin Siwach (60kg) fighting for gold.

Four more men’s boxers from the country – Akash (75kg), Lokesh (85kg), Harsh Choudhary (90kg) and Narender Berwal (90+kg) have already secured bronze.

India have already confirmed 16 medals at the continental boxing meet – the most by any single nation this year
