New Delhi: One person was killed and several others were injured after a gas cylinder of a truck exploded while it was being filled at a CNG station near Tikri Kalan Metro Station in outer Delhi on Wednesday, police said.
According to a senior police official, the person who was filling CNG into the truck’s cylinder was killed in the blast. He died on the spot.
Five or six people who were standing nearby at the time of the explosion sustained injuries and were rushed to a nearby hospital for treatment. The police official said the injured were in serious condition.
Delhi Police and fire teams were deployed at the spot after the incident. Further details about the cause of the explosion are awaited.
