Toko Shengelia has officially joined Dubai for the 2026-27 season, shortly after Barcelona confirmed his departure.
Although under contract with the Catalan club until June 2029, the Georgian forward paid close to one million euros to activate his exit clause. He made 78 appearances during his lone season with Barcelona, including 34 in the EuroLeague and 40 in the Spanish Liga Endesa.
Shengelia averaged 12.4 points and 4.6 rebounds in the EuroLeague, while contributing 11.2 points per game in the Spanish championship and helping Barcelona reach the Liga Endesa Finals.
The 2.06-meter power forward arrives in Dubai with 13 seasons of EuroLeague experience across five clubs. Before moving to Barcelona, he played for Virtus Bologna and helped the Italian club win the 2024-25 domestic championship and the 2023 Super Cup.
Shengelia previously won the Spanish championship with Baskonia in 2020 and the VTB United League with CSKA Moscow in 2021. He is also a two-time EuroCup champion, having lifted the trophy with Valencia and Virtus.
