Lloyds Bank is seeking permission to turn 191 and 193 High Street in Cheltenham into a single unit, with a new entrance, ATM, and updated signage across the front and the side elevation on Pittville Street.
The proposal includes installing an aluminium shopfront system, ceramic-tiled stall riser, and an automated sliding door.
A heritage statement included with the application supports the changes.
The applicant said: “This advert application is for the approval of the proposed new fascia signage, projecting signs, window graphics and the new MFD (multi-function ATM device) that is to be through the glass 24hr accessible.”
Lloyds has requested that advertising be in place from September 1.
The heritage statement concludes that the plans are appropriate for the area.
The applicant said: “The proposed bank presentation onto the High Street is modern and in keeping with surrounding retailers and broadly in line with the styles of the previous retailer in units 191/193. In this respect, the proposals will have no detrimental impact on the High Street.”
Lloyds is currently based at 130 High Street, a Grade II listed building dating from 1900.
