The Cycle of Love Trailer

“Create your own destiny. We need love and we need to be loved.” Dogwoof has revealed the official trailer for an indie documentary creation called The Cycle of Love, telling the remarkable true story of a young Indian man who rode his bicycle from Delhi, India all the way to Sweden. Yes this really happened! The film features a miraculous recreation along with interviews with the real PK and Lotta. This first premiered at the 2025 Telluride Film Festival last year and opens in US theaters in August later this year. A love story like no other, The Cycle of Love is an inspiring, heart-warming, epic true-life adventure about self-belief, destiny and the courage to risk everything for love, traversing continents in a journey spanning Delhi to Sweden. With unprecedented access, the filmmaking team behind Virunga and The White Helmets partner closely with PK, Lotta and their families to bring this intimate, thrilling and life-affirming story to the big screen. An epic true-life adventure about the search for self-belief and risking everything for what your heart tells you. Featuring the original P.K. Mahanandia and Lotta Von Schedvin, along with Chirag Benedict Lobo and Mina Dale. The looks like a wonderfully immersive & immensely moving film about the great power of love.

The film follows the extraordinary true story of PK. Back in 1977, a 23-year-old Delhi street artist from a poor, “untouchable” family, picked up a handful of paintbrushes and a second-hand bicycle and set off on a 6,000 mile journey across Europe and Asia to find Lotta, the woman who captured his heart during her visit to India. Convinced their meeting was fate, reinforced by an astrologer’s prophecy matching Lotta’s description, PK embarks on a leap of faith that becomes a journey of love, identity and transformation. The Cycle of Love is directed by acclaimed British doc filmmaker Orlando Von Einsiedel, director of the doc films Virunga, The White Helmets, Convergence: Courage in a Crisis, The Lost Children, and many other short films previously. It’s produced by Harri Grace, Chloe Leland, Emelie Mahanandia Von Schedvin, and Karl Mahanandia Von Schedvin. This initially premiered at the 2025 Telluride Film Festival last year. Dogwoof debuts Orlando von Einsiedel’s The Cycle of Love doc film in select US theaters starting August 28th, 2026 coming up soon – and later in the UK in September.
