A motorcyclist was killed in Hong Kong following a collision with a KMB double‑decker bus on Saturday afternoon.

Police said the crash occurred at about 4pm on New Clear Water Bay Road outside the Shun Lee Disciplined Services Quarters in Sau Mau Ping.

The rider suffered multiple injuries and was left unconscious. He was rushed by ambulance to United Christian Hospital in Kwun Tong, where he was later certified dead.

The bus was operating on route 290A from Tsuen Wan West Station to Choi Ming Court in Tseung Kwan O.

As the bus stopped near Church of Christ in China Kei Shun Special School to pick up passengers, the motorcycle travelling at high speed struck the right rear of the vehicle.

The rider was thrown to the ground.
