Jakarta, IO – Visitors browse products from micro, small and medium enterprises (SMEs) at the 2026 Jakarta Great Sale Festival (JGSF) in a shopping mall in Jakarta (June 15).
The Jakarta Provincial Government has once again launched its annual shopping extravaganza to mark the city’s 499th anniversary. Carrying the theme “Jakarta Belanja Penuh Cerita” (Jakarta Shopping Full of Stories), the month-long discount festival officially runs from June 10 to July 22, 2026.
This year’s event involves thousands of retail outlets across 104 shopping centers throughout the capital. The Jakarta administration has set an ambitious target of Rp16 trillion (US$980 million) in total transactions, a 4 percent increase from last year’s realization of Rp15.5 trillion.
Not only offering shoppers substantial discounts, but the Jakarta Great Sale Festival is also committed to supporting grassroots economic growth. Each year, the event actively involves micro, small and medium enterprises (SMEs) through exhibitions showcasing a wide range of locally made products.

The initiative is expected to deliver multiple benefits, from boosting transaction volumes in the modern retail sector to providing broader promotional opportunities for local creative products and helping them reach a wider audience.
More than just a seasonal sales event, the shopping festival has become part of Jakarta’s long-term strategy to strengthen its position as a competitive global destination for shopping, entertainment and lifestyle. (IO/Septo Kun Wijaya)
