Nasscom, through its U.K. forum in partnership with the High Commission of India in the United Kingdom, on Thursday (June 11, 2026) announced the constitution of the U.K. Technology Advisory Council (TAC) at the Nasscom U.K. Forum meet held at the High Commission of India, London.

The U.K. Technology Advisory Council will serve as a strategic industry advisory body to the High Commission of India in U.K., providing structured inputs on accelerating India-U.K. technology partnership including the government led Tech Security initiative on Artificial Intelligence, enhance cross border trade, investment and talent development, streamlining ease of doing business to help achieve the FTA target of doubling the bilateral trade and achieve the goals of Vision 2035.

A report titled ‘Indian Tech in the UK: Powering UK’s Growth Story’, highlighting the growing contribution of Indian technology companies to the U.K. economy, was also released at the event.

According to the report, leading Indian IT firms support more than 35,000 jobs across the U.K., with nearly 62% of their workforce located outside London. Their presence is contributing to regional economic growth in areas such as Greater Manchester, South Yorkshire, Birmingham, Reading, Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland.

Addressing the Nasscom U.K. Forum, India’s High Commissioner to the U.K., Periasamy Kumaran, said technological collaboration was playing an increasingly important role in bilateral relations.

He noted that Indian IT companies were creating high-value jobs, building local talent and fostering innovation in the U.K. He added that growing cooperation in emerging technologies such as artificial intelligence would support the objectives of the India–U.K. Comprehensive Economic and Trade Agreement and the Technology Security Initiative.

Nasscom President Rajesh Nambiar described the India–U.K. technology partnership as a strategic pillar of economic growth and digital transformation for both countries. He said the TAC would provide a structured mechanism for policymakers and industry leaders to address opportunities and challenges arising from rapid technological change.

The report also found that Indian technology firms are investing significantly in workforce development, with over 88% of employees receiving annual training and nearly 30% undergoing AI-related skilling programmes.
