Katie Price’s husband Lee Andrews released from Dubai…

Katie Price’s estranged husband Lee Andrews has been released from prison, almost a month after he went missing and was later found to have spent weeks in a jail in Dubai.

After initial claims from Price in May that Andrews had been “kidnapped”, it later emerged that he was being held in Dubai’s Al Awir jail.

The former glamour model, 48, travelled to the UAE last week in an effort to secure his release, where she discovered he faced an alleged £140,000 charge to be freed.

The reason behind his detention remains unclear. There were claims he was being held on suspicion of “espionage”, but these were denied by Dubai authorities, who said it was a “private civil matter”.

Andrews is now reportedly free from prison, with one of his friends telling The Sun that “Lee is out”.

The newspaper shared a screengrab of Price and Andrews on Facetime. He was sporting longer, darker facial hair and wearing a cap.

Price told The Sun that she was “excited” her husband had been freed, but said “trust me, I have questions”.

It is understood the couple were last together in early May. Since his arrest, Price has been able to speak with Andrews but they are yet to be reunited in person.

Speaking on The Katie Price Show podcast last week, Price said Andrews had been shocked to discover he had become “the most hated man in prison” after his disappearance sparked widespread speculation online.

Price previously said that Andrews will need to do a public interview to explain the mystery of his disappearance.

“He is going to have to explain it all. He needs to do an interview,” she said. “The public deserve it – everyone thinks he’s a con artist. He needs to come on this podcast! He’s had lots of hate but let’s give him a chance to tell his story.”

Andrews – who is based in Dubai – had been set to fly to the UK to do a joint interview with Price on Good Morning Britain but failed to show up and could not be contacted.

He told Price he had been “bundled into a van” with his hands tied at the Dubai border and taken to a so-called “black site” while attempting to travel to London to be with her.

His family reportedly filed a missing persons report with the British embassy but consular staff in Dubai were reportedly unable to find any trace of him.

It was later revealed that he was detained and placed in Al Awir prison.
