Grab is now providing passengers door-to-door taxi rides between anywhere in Singapore and select areas in Malaysia’s Johor region.

The new pilot service was launched on Monday, after Grab had long observed strong demand for more seamless cross-border transportation.

“Every day, hundreds of thousands of commuters cross the border for work, business and leisure, and we’ve seen growing demand for more transport options, especially for those traveling in groups,” said Alex Hungate, Grab’s president and COO.

To drive adoption, Grab is offering discounts of up to 20%. Users can choose between four- and six-seater vehicles, including premium options suited for families and business travelers.

Grab secured the region’s first Cross-Border Ride-Hail Service Operator Licence under a joint initiative by the Singapore and Malaysia transport ministries.
