Biruntha Mooruthi Appointed as Group Chief Executive Officer at Talent Corporation Malaysia Berhad (TalentCorp)

Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, April 2026 — Biruntha Mooruthi has been appointed as Group Chief Executive Officer at Talent Corporation Malaysia Berhad (TalentCorp), bringing extensive experience across innovation policy, talent strategy, technology commercialisation, intellectual property, and national-level transformation initiatives.

In her new role, Biruntha Mooruthi will lead TalentCorp’s mission of strengthening Malaysia’s talent ecosystem, driving initiatives to attract, nurture, and retain talent while supporting the country’s ambition to become a dynamic and market-driven global talent hub.

Prior to this appointment, Biruntha served as Co-Founder of the Association of Innovative Educational Research, where she advised stakeholders across industry, government, and academia on innovation ecosystems, ethical frameworks, and technology transfer strategies.

She also founded TechCom Ventures Sdn Bhd, where she focused on helping organizations translate innovation into market-ready solutions through expertise in governance, commercialization strategy, and intellectual property frameworks.

Earlier, Biruntha was associated with Universiti Tenaga Nasional, where she served as Chief Commercial Officer (CCO) and later as a Fellow in Innovation and Technology Commercialisation, leading initiatives in IP strategy, research commercialization, and industry-academia collaboration in the energy sector.

She also held leadership roles at PlaTCOM Ventures Sdn Bhd, Agensi Inovasi Malaysia (AIM) as Vice President – Technology Commercialisation & Innovation, where she led national-level innovation programs, IP commercialization strategies, and SME transformation initiatives under Malaysia’s innovation agenda.

Earlier in her career, Biruntha worked with BT as an Industry Partnership Specialist, where she built strategic collaborations across Southeast Asia, managed large R&D programs, and facilitated innovation-driven partnerships. She began her professional journey as a Patent Specialist at mirandah asia, building foundational expertise in intellectual property and patent advisory.
