“Habibi, come to Dubai” once became a global trend, with countries and cities around the world copying the format to promote themselves.

Then the phrase changed to “Habibi, run from Dubai” — “Habibi, escape from Dubai.” After years of celebrities chasing golden residency in the UAE, Western media now reports that wealthy individuals are paying hundreds of thousands of dollars to charter private jets just to flee Dubai with their families.

Since the American-Israeli war on Iran began in late February 2026, most economic discussions have focused only on oil prices and the closure of the Strait of Hormuz. But the economic consequences go far deeper.

This episode examines the collapse of the Persian Gulf dream and looks at ten sectors — beyond oil — that have been affected by the war, and why some of them may never fully recover.
