Saudi, Malaysian ministers discuss cultural ties

RIYADH: Saudi Arabia’s Minister of Culture Prince Badr bin Abdullah bin Farhan met Malaysia’s Minister of Tourism, Arts and Culture Datuk Seri Tiong King Sing in Kuala Lumpur on Wednesday.

Prince Badr expressed pride in the strong historical and fraternal ties between Saudi Arabia and Malaysia, noting that culture was a key bridge for strengthening relations between the two peoples.

He also thanked the Malaysian side for inviting the Kingdom as guest of honor at the Kuala Lumpur International Book Fair.

The two sides reviewed cultural relations and discussed ways to develop cooperation across various cultural sectors in line with the strategic visions of both countries.

Meanwhile, Saudi Assistant Minister of Culture Rakan Al-Touq visited the Islamic Arts Museum in Kuala Lumpur. He met the vice president of the Albukhary Foundation, the museum’s founder and funder.

They discussed strengthening museum cooperation through expert exchange, joint exhibitions, and programs for lending and exchanging artifacts between museums in Saudi Arabia and the Islamic Arts Museum.
