UAE – Intercontinental Aviation Academy (FlyIAA), a global flight training group headquartered in Dubai, has acquired an ALSIM AL40/42 flight simulator — a dual-configuration training device replicating the Diamond DA40 and DA42 aircraft — as part of the academy’s ongoing expansion and investment in pilot training infrastructure.

  • The ALSIM AL40/42 simulator reproduces the specific interior cockpits and flight decks of both the Diamond DA40 and DA42, with conversion between configurations achievable in approximately 10 minutes by swapping the dashboard and centre console, including all aircraft system switches, Garmin avionics, power levers, fuel selection, and yaw trim panels.
  • The device is certified to EASA FNPT II, FAA AATD/FTD Level 5, and Transport Canada FTD Level 2 with IPC capability, and is suitable for PPL, CPL, and IR/ME training in compliance with current regulatory standards.
  • ALSIM will display the AL42 (DA42 configuration) at AERO Friedrichshafen, 22–25 April 2026, at Booth A6-210, allowing visitors to experience the device firsthand.

Statements

  • “ALSIM is proud to have been chosen as the simulator provider as part of IAA’s impressive investments in pilot training and its rapid growth. Their new simulator can be used with both DA40 and DA42 cockpits, and the change between them takes only about 10 minutes, offering great flexibility and supporting modern, efficient training for future pilots,” said Leonardo Rodrigues, Sales Manager, ALSIM.
  • “Our mission is to prepare the next generation of aviators with the best tools and standards available in the industry. The addition of the ALSIM AL40/42 demonstrates our dedication to providing training that truly reflects real-world operations and airline expectations,” said Frederico Fernandes, CEO, Intercontinental Aviation Academy.
