Indian benchmarks opened higher on Thursday, buoyed by strong global cues after AI giant Nvidia reported quarterly earnings and revenue

Sensex Today: Indian stock markets opened higher on Thursday, supported by a strong rebound in global tech shares.
The BSE Sensex opened around 85,347, gaining 161 points or 0.19 per cent, while the Nifty50 began the session at 26,110, up 58 points or 0.22 per cent.
The positive sentiment followed robust quarterly results from artificial intelligence (AI) giant Nvidia, which surpassed Wall Street’s earnings and revenue estimates. As a result, major Asian indices jumped as much as 4 per cent, while US benchmarks closed higher between 0.1 per cent and 0.6 per cent.
In the domestic market, broader indices also moved up, with the Nifty MidCap rising 0.34 per cent and the Nifty SmallCap gaining 0.38 per cent.
Among sectoral indices, Nifty Metal and Nifty Auto advanced 0.3 per cent each.
Global Cues
Asian markets were trading solidly in the green. Japan’s Nikkei surged 3.62%, China’s CSI 300 gained 0.47%, Hong Kong’s Hang Seng rose 0.65%, and South Korea’s KOSPI advanced 2.5%.
Overnight, US markets also closed higher. The Dow Jones Industrial Average rose 0.10%, the S&P 500 gained 0.38%, and the Nasdaq Composite added 0.59%.
Minutes from the US Federal Reserve’s October meeting revealed differing views among policymakers on whether weakening labour market conditions or persistently high inflation posed a greater risk to the economy.
Later today, the US Bureau of Labor Statistics is set to release the delayed September nonfarm payrolls report, which was postponed due to the government shutdown.
