Sensex Today | Stock Market LIVE Updates: The Nifty index is soaring with a mammoth surge of over 200 points. The index is now above the milestone mark of 26,000. The Sensex index is up over 750 points, pushing past the 85,000 mark. This surge is currently being led by major IT stocks.
The Nifty 50 is just under 200 points away from a record high, after ending the special session in the green.
The Nifty Bank index is scaling newer peaks in every session, as the banking index is up over 400 points. The key index is now inching towards the milestone mark of 60,000.
Some of the biggest gainers among the Nifty 500 stocks are Vardhaman Textiles, Birlasoft, Welspun, KPR Mill, IGIL, Sonata Software Bharat Forge among others.
Infosys shares have surged over 2% over its proposed buyback, where promoters do not intend to participate. Coming to the results, some major earnings for the day include those from Hindustan Unilever, Laurus Labs, and Colgate-Palmolive.
