Yorkshire surveyors launch new property platform

A group of Yorkshire-based surveyors have launched a new online platform designed to simplify how commercial space is marketed and discovered.

Go To Commercial has gone live with more than 1100 listings from agents across Yorkshire, covering office, retail, industrial, investment and development opportunities.

Created by surveyors frustrated with fragmented systems and rising portal costs, the platform positions itself as a transparent, commercial-only alternative to portals built primarily for residential property.

Listings are provided by a growing network of established commercial agencies, giving occupiers, investors and developers access to a wide range of specialist property stock in one place.

Andrew Steel, founder of Go To Commercial and partner at Leeds-based surveying firm Michael Steel & Co, said: “The platform grew out of conversations we were having with other agents about the frustrations of using existing portals.

“There was a clear gap in the market for a platform built specifically around commercial property, rather than trying to adapt systems designed for residential use.

“The focus has been on creating something practical, intuitive and genuinely useful for the industry.

“The early support from agents in Leeds and West Yorkshire has been encouraging, and the platform’s effectiveness will come from the industry itself, and as more agents join, its value as a national commercial property resource will continue to grow.”

Nick Bone, founding member of Go To Commercial and director at Bone Consulting, added: “The aim was to remove unnecessary friction from commercial property search.

“We wanted to create a platform that reflects how people actually look for and assess commercial property, using tools that are headache free and easy-to-use.”

Built with a robust data backend, the platform is designed to capture long-term market insight as its network expands, with the founders now inviting agents from other regions to help develop a genuinely national commercial property portal.

Ian Greenwood, managing director at Carter Towler, added: “The key to the new website is its foundation based upon commercial property agent expertise at the industry coal face; agents understand the property search and identification process and the need for access to the largest cross section of the regional market in one place.”
