Ashford Homes wants to build two two-bed semis and seven four-bed detached houses on a half-hectare piece of land on the eastern edge of the village, opposite Honey Farm and not far from the Baptist Chapel.
The land sits between homes at Lewis Court and off Goose Street.
The site was previously the subject of a planning application for three houses in 2014. Wiltshire Council refused planning permission and a subsequent appeal was rejected by the Planning Inspectorate.
The applicant argues that because Wiltshire Council cannot meet its house-building targets, permission should be granted.
Each of the properties will have private rear gardens and doble garages or designated parking spaces.
The developer says the houses will be “highly energy-efficient, low-carbon homes that are future-proofed and environmentally responsible.”
A decision from Wiltshire Council is expected by January 19.
