Grimsby land ‘blighted by litter’ is cleaned up

Council workers and staff from local businesses have teamed up to clean up land covered in litter in Grimsby.

The site on Robinson Street East had fly-tipped waste removed and had overgrown hedges and plants cut back.

Work was also done on land bordering on nearby Peaks Parkway.

Councillor Henry Hudson, portfolio holder for environment and net zero, said: “This is great work from everyone involved and I’m so glad we could do this to a piece of land that many may have felt was neglected.”

Hudson added: “An area of land once blighted with litter and overgrown hedges has now been made safer and clean thanks to the hard work of council staff and a local Grimsby business.

“I hope people can respect the exceptional work that has been carried out and we all have a part to play in keeping the area looking as good as it does.”

North East Lincolnshire Council said it was working with landowners who own other sections of the area to continue with the work.
